Hovering between sun and storm

Why walk when you can hover? Sau’s cyberboard takes Second Life travel to the next level. Along the winding curves of Patapat Bridge, my mind was in conflict. It felt harrowing to find myself on a trip to the coast while much of the country lay submerged in flood . The journey had been planned months ago, but the heavy rains and the unpassable roads along the way reminded me of the need to adapt, and to sit with situations that are often complicated and conflicting. I was, after all, chasing the sun. And yet, the dark clouds seemed to follow me. There was joy in sinking my toes into the warm sand, but my heart stayed with those perched on rooftops and high ground, trying to keep their feet from the rising waters.  I realize this strange juxtaposition we often find ourselves in is a deeply human experience. The serpentine grace of Patapat Bridge, cradled by cliffs and coastline. It’s good to recognize the reach of our privileges, the weight of our small joys and quiet influences...
